The stud
was founded in 1990 by the late R.C.Hughes, with mainly chestnut
mares with flaxen manes and tails. Some of which are still at the
stud. We have used coloured stallions of Shetland island breeding on
these mares, and purchased other island bred coloured mares, and as
a result we have our main stud stallion Edern Prysor, producing
mainly skewbald foals.
We are very pleased to have
added the outstanding Cranford Nureyev to the stud and look
forward to seeing his foals next year |

The ponies
have been of various sizes, but recently we have been using smaller
stallions, mainly Longmeadow Harry, a young 30“ skewbald stallion
with excellent bone, bought as a foal at Reading from Mrs Cracknel
and licensed by ourselves. We also purchased Mullacott Boris, 30”
skewbald. Both of these are now providing us with some lovely
miniature coloured foals.
We have always selected the best of our home produced colt foals to
run on and take great pleasure in seeing them licensed.
